The theme of this years Met Gala paid homage to the Catholic church and challenged A-listers to push the limits of their fashionable imaginations. Though fashion is the focus of the night, I’m here to share the best makeup moments from the red (and gold) carpet. Many chose to look as natural and beautiful as possible, playing up angelic looks with rosy cheeks, pink lips, and dewy skin. Others chose to look fiercely dramatic with colorful smoky eyes.

See below for this year’s best beauty looks:

Kate Bosworth | Met Gala

Angelic and saint-like, Kate Bosworth looked like perfection with her dewy complexion, peachy cheeks and coordinating lipstick.

Jasmine Sanders | Met Gala

Jasmine Sanders let her natural beauty shine through with minimal makeup and warm eye shadow to compliment her golden undertones.

Bella Hadid | Met Gala

Bella! Bella! Bella! The super model’s heavy contour and pop of gold on the eye draws you in and snatches your edges.

Rita Ora | Met Gala

Rita Ora’s head dress is so stunning, that any more makeup than this would have been too much. The hot pink lips and gold eyes are just enough to complete her killer look!

Cynthia Erivo | Met Gala

Cynthia Erivos’ makeup is perfectly on theme with these bejeweled eyebrows. The dark berry lip and rose gold eye shadow balance the drama of the brows in the most heavenly way!

Kim Kardashian West | Met Gala

Kim Kardashian West never disappoints when it comes to her makeup. This year’s met gala heralded the return of her signature smokey liner and bold lashes that made her makeup artist famous.

Cardi B | Met Gala

Cardi B’s dramatic burgundy smokey eye and brick red lipstick, pair well with this vanilla Moschino outfit that calls back to Beyoncé’s iconic 2017 Grammy performance.

Zendaya | Met Gala

Zendaya’s minimalist makeup is perfect for the Joan of Arc inspired ensemble. The bold brows and rosy cheeks are a perfect reimagining of this historical heroine.
