COMMONPOLISHED was founded by party gal, Kara Smith, as a blog in 2014. In 2018, the brand evolved, unveiling a revamped approach with a focus on strategic event curation and brand collaborations. Based in Houston, Texas, COMMONPOLISHED has executed events for NARS- River Oaks District, Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins, Former Pittsburg Steelers Tight End Eric Ebron, Houston’s 184th District Judge Katherine Thomas, and many others!

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I’ve always followed my lifelong passion for fashion, design, and event curation.
By working with the Sales and Marketing team at Nicole Miller NYC, handling Wholesale Events at David Yurman NYC, and working six years for PaperCity Magazine in Houston, Texas, my past local and national experience in the event-sphere has allowed me to bring an unparalleled perspective to the Houston market and beyond.
